Pittsburgh: Heavy Downpours for Thursday, Becoming Drier Through the Weekend

July 8,2015; 9:04PM,EDT

Following the passage of a front at midweek, another storm system will be moving through on Thursday bringing showers and heavy thunderstorms for places in and around Pittsburgh.
Places that do pick up these heavier showers or thunderstorms could be dealing with possible flash flooding, as the ground is still relatively saturated from the recent rains.

"A mere inch or two of rain in three hours is all that is needed for flash flooding to occur," AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Alex Sosnowski said.
Temperatures will also be warmer on Thursday, with high temperatures approaching 80 F.
