Philadelphia: Dry Spell to Replace Severe Storms

Philadelphia will catch a break from showers and thunderstorms Friday and this weekend.
An area of high pressure will replace Thursday's storminess beginning Friday and hold firm across the region through this weekend, preventing those with outdoor plans from having to deal with weather-related delays.
Residents and visitors will just want to be sure to apply sunscreen and take other precautions to protect themselves from the harmful rays of the sun. After a partly sunny day on Friday, ample sunshine will prevail this weekend as temperatures flirt with the 90-degree mark.

Homeowners and landscaping crews in part of the mid-Atlantic have been struggling to find time to cut grass during the wet pattern.
According to AccuWeather Meteorologist Eric Leister, "When you see a break coming your way on AccuWeather MinuteCast® for Your Location or the AccuWeather radar, you better take advantage of it."

Following the break from the rain, more rounds of showers and thunderstorms are likely to return next week.
How long the wet pattern lasts or how wet it becomes will depend on exactly where the storm train sets up from the Midwest to the mid-Atlantic and fluctuates from day to day.
