Boston: New Week to Bring Warmth, Few Storms

This week is shaping up to be much warmer than how June started around Boston with a shower or thunderstorm occasionally interfering with outdoor plans.
The door will open for warmer air to pour in on Monday as an area of high pressure slides off the coast.
Temperatures will rise about 10 degrees above Sunday's high to levels that are more common for early June. After the chill that started June, that means that Monday is shaping up to be Boston's warmest day so far this month.

As the warmer air arrives and as a cold front approaches, a shower or thunderstorm will have those with outdoor plans monitoring AccuWeather MinuteCast®.
Monday, however, will definitely not be a washout with most of the day staying dry. That will not be the case farther inland.
"Downpours and heavy thunderstorms will fire up across the interior Northeast Monday and then head toward the coast through Monday night," stated AccuWeather Meteorologist Andy Mussoline.

An uptick in showers and thunderstorms will come to the Boston area Monday night into Tuesday, but again all day rain will not ruin outdoor activities.
Temperatures will remain seasonable with a high near 75 F.

The storminess will clear the area by midweek, but that does not mean a turn to cooler weather. Temperatures will instead flirt with the 80-degree mark Wednesday underneath abundant sunshine.
The warmth will hold into late week with a shower or thunderstorm set to return on Thursday.
