Sunshine and warmth are forecast for the Boston area this weekend.
In the wake of the drenching rain Thursday, only spotty showers are likely Friday and Saturday through Sunday will be free of rain.
High temperatures will range from the lower 70s on Friday to the 80s Saturday and Sunday.
AccuWeather.com MinuteCast™ has the minute-by-minute forecast for your exact location when showers and thunderstorms threaten. Type your city name, select MinuteCast™, and input your street address. On mobile, you can also use your GPS location.
Despite the risk of a shower on Friday, much of the day will be free of rain.
The weather for the Belmont Stakes and the last leg of the Triple Crown on Saturday will be warm and free of rain. Afternoon temperatures will peak near 80 F, but RealFeel® temperatures will be significantly higher in the stands and around the grounds in the sunshine with light winds.
At Long Pond, Pennsylvania, for the Pocono 400 on Sunday, sunshine will throttle the temperature to near 80 F after a traditional cool start. There may be patchy early morning fog. Thunderstorms building to the west in the afternoon should hold off until after the race.
If it is the beach you had in mind on this weekend, remember surf temperatures are still in the upper 50s and can pose a risk of cold water shock for many individuals.
