As cold air blasts into the West and spreads into the Central states, warmth will build in the East, including the Philadelphia area this week.
High temperatures will be well into the 50s most days through Friday, but will surge into the 60s on Thursday.
Spotty showers are in the offing Thursday. It could get very wet at times Friday into Friday night as a storm moves in from the South Central states. Travel delays are possible for a time Thursday due to fog and due to drenching rain moving in Friday.

It will turn colder Friday afternoon and night but odds are against significant snow or ice at the tail end of the rain in the Philadelphia area Saturday morning.
Another storm moving in from the South Central states could bring a wintry mix to part of the area later in the weekend.
