Helpless, anxious and thousands of miles away, William Talley is among the Americans looking for loved ones after super typhoon Haiyan hit the central Philippines.

Talley, who grew up on the U.S. West Coast, told CNN.com he now lives in Guiuan with his wife Rose and their daughter Wilrose. He has been back in the U.S. awaiting knee surgery, and he hasn't heard from them since the storm.
"I've reviewed every story coming out of Guiuan," he says in this iReport video. "I've looked for pictures and whatnot. I've found nothing for proof of life."
Talley's fears are grounded in the fact that Guiuan sustained significant damage. ABS-CBNNEWS.com reports "ninty-nine percent of the infrastructure" was damaged in the onslaught.

As this weather.com animation shows, Guiuan was directly in Haiyan's path, and among the first places the storm hit.
Talley is now pleading with anyone who can help get him into the area to search for his family. You can read more about his story at CNN.com.
