The same storm that dumped more than a foot of snow across portions of Montana is strengthening to the lee of the Rockies through Friday night.

Heavy snow will continue to slam eastern Wyoming and western South Dakota, while winds up to 40-60 mph contribute to blowing and drifting. Some communities are already dealing with power outages, and more are possible as the heavy, wet snow weighs down branches and power lines.
As of Friday afternoon, two feet of snow have accumulated in portions of of Johnson and Natrona counties in Wyoming. Lead, S.D., has received 22 inches of snow.
Meanwhile, farther east on the warmer side of the storm, severe storms will ignite from Wisconsin to Oklahoma through Friday night.
