An extended period of dry weather will continue into Saturday morning around Washington, D.C. However, rain is in the offing Saturday afternoon and night.
Sunshine and a warming trend will take the Washington, D.C. area through each day of the balance of the week. Temperatures are forecast to climb into the lower the 80s on Friday.
If you are heading to Nationals Park for the Saturday game with the Marlins, rain could come down in buckets. Clearing is likely for the Sunday afternoon game.
Likewise, some sunshine is in store for the Lions/Redskins game at FedEx Field Sunday.

The latest indications are that a southern storm will have much less impact on the forward speed of a cool front moving through the area this weekend.
The front should be moving a tad faster. As a result rain will move in Saturday and depart early Sunday.
