Much Colder, Unsettled Weather Moves Into Southern California

November 7,2012; 1:39PM,EST

Changes are already underway in Southern California from the hot weather that started the week to the chilly that ends the week.
A storm in the Gulf of Alaska drops south the rest of the week bringing a big cool-down the rest of the week. From record highs in the 90s Monday to highs on Friday only in the low 60s, a more than 30-degree drop takes place. There could be some drizzle Thursday morning then a shower or two Friday to go along with the change in temperature.
In the mountains there are likely to be a few snow showers Thursday night and Friday with snow levels lowering to 4,500 feet in northern areas to 5,500 feet in San Diego County. Snow accumulations won't amount to much and no important travel problems are expected.
