After a soggy and cool day on Friday, much improved weather is on the way to Minneapolis, St. Paul and surrounding communities for the weekend.
A large storm located over the Great Lakes will track north and east away from the region, leading to a drier flow of air beginning tonight. Skies will gradually clear across the area tonight as a zone of high pressure moves in from the west. Areas of fog may develop as the clouds break due to leftover moisture in the air. If you have to travel late tonight, be sure to slow down if you encounter areas of fog as they can be locally dense.
Saturday will be much improved with a good deal of sunshine and high temperatures up near the 60-degree mark, which is right around normal for this time of year.
Dry weather will continue on Sunday, but temperatures will soar to near 70 degrees thanks to a southerly flow of air.
The next chance for precipitation will come on Monday to start off the workweek.
