Cooldown Headed for Southern California

Hotter-than-normal weather has prevailed for the past few days. The heat peaked in the Los Angeles area Wednesday with widespread 90-degree temperatures, around 15 degrees above normal.The offshore flow creating this heat will turn around quickly to onshore Thursday, then become increasingly strong through the weekend.High temperatures Thursday will drop a 10 degrees from Wednesday's highs.The coolest weather will be over the weekend, however. Morning marine clouds will extend far inland each morning before clearing to sunshine.High temperatures will drop below normal with low to mid-70s for coastal cities and middle to upper 70s in the valleys.
