Weather Underground Forecast for Wednesday,June 8,2016

A stormy weather pattern will continue across parts of the East Coast on Wednesday, while isolated thunderstorms fire up over the Intermountain West.

A low pressure system will rotate over the Northeast and southeast Canada. This system will keep rain and thunderstorms in the forecast for the northern Mid-Atlantic and New England. A cold frontal boundary will stretch south southwestward over the western Atlantic, the Southeast and the northern Gulf of Mexico. Showers and thunderstorms will develop along and near this frontal boundary over Florida and the western Gulf Coast. A cool and dry air mass will settle in west of the cold front over the Midwest, the Mid-Atlantic and New England.

Meanwhile, a weak frontal system will push eastward across the Pacific Northwest and the upper Intermountain West. This system, combined with daytime heating, will generate afternoon and evening thunderstorms across the interior Northwest and the Intermountain West. By the latter half of the day, storms will expand eastward over the central and northern Plains, as well as the upper Mississippi Valley.

A ridge of high pressure will keep warm air in place over the Great Basin and the Southwest. Afternoon temperatures will continue to spike above 100 degrees across the lower elevations of the Desert Southwest.
