Weather Underground Forecast for Tuesday,June 7,2016

Tropical Storm Colin will impact the Southeast on Tuesday, while a warm weather pattern continues over a handful of western states.

Tropical Storm Colin will move quickly northeastward across the Southeast and the southern Mid-Atlantic. This system will usher moderate to heavy rain and embedded thunderstorms over the region. Heavy rain will bring threats of flash flooding to eastern North Carolina. High surf will also impact the southern Mid-Atlantic and the Southeast. Tropical storm warnings are in place for portions of Florida, eastern Georgia, eastern South Carolina and eastern North Carolina.

Just to the north, a cold frontal boundary will shift across the Great Lakes and the Northeast. This frontal system will generate rain and thunderstorms across the Midwest, the Mid-Atlantic and New England. A blast of cool air will also settle in across the Northeast on Tuesday.

Out west, a cold frontal boundary will move inland over the Pacific Northwest. This system, combined with a weak area of low pressure over the Intermountain West, will initiate showers and thunderstorms across the Pacific Northwest, the Great Basin, the Wasatch and the Rockies.

A ridge of high pressure will keep afternoon temperatures 5 to 10 degrees above normal for the Southwest. Temperatures will spike well above 100 degrees across the lower deserts of southern California, Arizona and Nevada.
