Weather Underground Forecast for Monday,June 6,2016
Tropical Depression Three will impact the Southeast on Monday, while above normal temperatures continue west of the Continental Divide.
Tropical Depression Three will trek northeastward across the eastern Gulf of Mexico and Florida. This system will bring high surf to the eastern Gulf Coast, and very stormy conditions to the Southeast. Heavy rain will bring threats of flash flooding to a large portion of Florida and southern Georgia. Additional rain and thunderstorms will affect the Gulf Coast and the Eastern Seaboard as a cold frontal boundary shifts over the region. Moderate to heavy rain is expected to impact New England and the Mid-Atlantic throughout Monday morning.
Meanwhile, a separate cold front will extend west southwestward from the Great Lakes to the upper Intermountain West. This frontal boundary will produce light to moderate rain and thunderstorms over the Midwest. A blast of cool air will settle in north of the frontal boundary from the northern Plains to the Great Lakes.
Out west, a weak low pressure system will drift eastward over the Intermountain West. This system will initiate showers and isolated thunderstorms across parts of northern California, the Pacific Northwest and the Intermountain West. A ridge of high pressure will keep temperatures well above normal across most states west of the Plains. Afternoon temperatures will soar well above 100 degrees in the lower deserts of southern California, Nevada and Arizona.
