Cool air and clouds will be replaced by increasing sunshine and warmth in England and Wales next week.
While the weekend will turn warmer across southern parts of the United Kingdom, thundery showers will threaten outdoor plans, including the 237th running of the Epsom Derby on Saturday.
On Sunday, thundery showers are most likely across Southwest England and Wales where downpours are possible during the afternoon. High pressure to the north will supply dry and pleasant weather from northern England into Scotland.
High temperatures this weekend will range from 18-24 C (65-75 F) with the lowest temperatures in eastern-facing coastal areas.
The threat for rain will remain in the forecast on Monday as thundery showers develop across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Largely dry and pleasant weather will continue across Scotland.
Temperatures will remain 3-6 C (5-10 F) above normal across the U.K. with highs reaching 24 C (75 F) in parts of northern England and western Scotland.
A warm front will pass through the U.K. on Tuesday bringing scattered showers and even a few thunderstorms throughout the day.
This front will usher in continued warmth as temperatures remain well above normal nationwide.

High pressure will then dominate the U.K. on Wednesday and Thursday as temperatures continue to soar to levels more typical of midsummer with abundant sunshine across Wales and England.
These will likely be the warmest days in London and surrounding areas with temperatures approaching 24 C (75 F) both days.
The threat for rain will increase again late next week as a storm system approaches from the Atlantic.
