Weather Underground Forecast for Thursday,April 7,2016

A low pressure system will move across the Northeast on Thursday, while a separate system lifts over southern California.

An area of low pressure will transition east northeastward from the eastern Great Lakes to northern New England. A mixture of moderate to heavy rain and snow will spread across the upper Midwest, the northern Mid-Atlantic and New England. Prolonged heavy rain will bring threats of flash flooding to northern Connecticut, northern Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire and southeast Maine. A cold frontal boundary associated with this system will generate showers and thunderstorms across the Tennessee Valley, the Mid-Atlantic and parts of the Southeast.

A separate wave of low pressure will form in the wake of this system. A light mixture of rain and snow will develop across the eastern tier of the northern Plains, as well as the upper Mississippi Valley.

Out west, a low pressure system will move slowly northeastward over southern California. This system will draw subtropical moisture from the eastern Pacific, which will lead to showers and isolated thunderstorms across the Southwest. High pressure will keep conditions dry over the Pacific Northwest and the majority of the Intermountain West on Thursday.
