Weather Underground Forecast for Wednesday,April 6,2016
A low pressure system will slide across the Great Lakes on Wednesday, while a ridge of high pressure continues to build over the West Coast.
An area of low pressure will push eastward from the northern Plains to the eastern Great Lakes. This system will usher gusty winds and light to moderate precipitation across the northern Plains, the upper Midwest and portions of the Northeast. A mixture of rain and snow is expected across most states stretching from the northern high Plains to New England. A swath of moderate to heavy snow showers will likely impact northern Wisconsin, extreme northern New York and northwest New England. Winter weather advisories are in place for northeast Minnesota, northern Wisconsin and most of Michigan. A cold frontal boundary will extend southwestward from the upper Mississippi Valley to the southern Plains. This frontal system will shift eastward, colliding with an onshore flow from the Gulf of Mexico. The result will be numerous areas of showers and thunderstorms stretching from the Mississippi Valley to the Southeast.
Meanwhile, high pressure will continue to dominate the weather pattern west of the Continental Divide. Temperatures will stay well above normal over the Southwest. Additionally, an area of low pressure over the eastern Pacific will bring a slight chance of evening showers to extreme southwest California.
