Weather Underground Forecast for Sunday,March 20,2016

An area of low pressure will skim across the Eastern Seaboard on Sunday, while a Pacific system affects the Northwest.

A low pressure system will strengthen as it lift northeastward over the East Coast. This system will usher moderate to heavy snow across the central Appalachians, the northern Mid-Atlantic and New England. Snow accumulations of 1 to 4 inches will be common across the region. This system will also bring a mixture of rain and snow to the Tennessee Valley, the southern Ohio Valley and the southern Mid-Atlantic. A cold frontal boundary associated with this system will stretch southwestward. This frontal system will initiate rain and thunderstorms over central and southern Florida.

A cold and dry air mass will settle in west of the aforementioned system over the Mississippi Valley and the Midwest. Northeast Minnesota and northern Michigan will have a chance of light snow as a Canadian frontal boundary approaches the region.

Out west, a Pacific low pressure system will inch closer to the coast of British Columbia. A cold frontal boundary associated with this system will produce moderate to heavy rain over northern California, the Pacific Northwest and the upper Intermountain West. High elevation snow will impact the northern Sierra Nevada, the Cascades and the upper Intermountain West. Locally heavy snow is expected along favorable slopes across the Sawtooth Mountain Range.
