Weather Underground Forecast for Sunday,February 14,2016

Active weather will move across the Plains and into the Eastern states on Sunday as a few low pressure systems develop over the center of the nation. A low pressure system moving off the northern Rockies and into the Plains will continue spreading snow showers across the Dakotas and into the northern Mississippi River Valley. Some areas may see up to 6 inches of new snow with this system. Winter weather advisories have been issued from North Dakota through Illinois. To the south, another system developing over the southern Plains will pull moisture in from the Gulf of Mexico and produce showers from Texas through the Mid-Atlantic states. Cooler temperatures along the northern locations will allow for a wintry mix of sleet, freezing rain, and snow from the central Plains, mid-Mississippi Valley, and Tennessee Valley. Expect rain showers from the southern Plains through the Southeast. Temperatures across the Eastern states will remain 20 to 30 degrees below normal for this time of year.

Meanwhile out West, a trough of low pressure over the Pacific Northwest continues pulling moisture in from the Pacific Ocean and will produce rain and snow showers for the Pacific Northwest and the northern Rockies. Highest elevations may see up to 2 feet of snow by Sunday evening.
