A storm will cause rain to spread across Germany this Valentine's Day weekend, threatening to put a damper on outdoor activities.
A bit of rain will reach places from Dusseldorf to Frankfurt and Stuttgart on Saturday morning. Steadier rain and the greater disruptions to outdoor plans will follow for the afternoon.
Some rain will reach Munster, Nuremberg and Munich by the end of the day before spreading to Hamburg, Berlin and Dresden at night.

The rain is not expected to cause any flooding concerns; however, it could cause slow travel at times.
Otherwise, the main impact of the rain will be to force residents to grab an umbrella before leaving home. Those with outdoor activities should prepare for possible postponements or alternate indoor plans.
The storm will weaken and slow down as it moves northeastward resulting in continued showers for much of Germany into Sunday.
The recent intrusion of cooler air will continue through this weekend, though temperatures will remain above normal.

High temperatures in far northern Germany, around Hamburg, will be around 4-6 C (lower 40s F) on Saturday before lowering slightly for Sunday.
Frankfurt to Berlin can expect temperatures ranging from 5-8 C (42-46 F) both days of the weekend, while the mildest air will remain in the south with high temperatures reaching 6-9 C (44-48 F) from Stuttgart to Munich.
The storm will stall over Denmark on Monday continuing the threat of showers over northern Germany to start the new week.
Rain and mountain snow from another system will also graze far southern Germany on Monday and may expand over more of southern and eastern Germany Tuesday into Wednesday.
