Unseasonable warmth will continue in the Pittsburgh area until a storm with drenching rain and gusty winds rolls through on Wednesday.
Temperatures will continue to average 10-20 degrees Fahrenheit above normal into Wednesday. Temperatures typically range from a low in the lower 20s to a high in the upper 30s.
While temperatures will approach 60 on Wednesday, windswept rain is in store with the potential for travel delays. The rain could be heavy enough to cause urban flooding, especially where piles of snow are blocking storm drains.
Since a significant amount of the existing snow from the storm in January, major river flooding is not likely from the midweek rainstorm. There can be significant rise on the smaller streams in the region, however.
With a return of sunshine late in the week, high temperatures will be in the 30s to near 40.
