A benign weather pattern has returned to the Philadelphia area and will continue this weekend.
Chillier air will settle into the region during the rest of the week. However, while temperatures will dip below average for a couple of days, they will stop well short of the arctic blast from Valentine's Day weekend.
Temperatures average from a low in the upper 20s F to a high in the middle 40s during third week in February. Highs Thursday and Friday will be within a couple degrees of 40.

For those with connecting flights in the Midwest on Friday, strong winds could lead to airline delays and turbulence for hubs such as Chicago and Detroit.
With the aid of a westerly flow of Pacific air across much of the nation, temperature will climb well into the 50s to near 60 both days of the weekend. It will feel more like mid- to late March.

Colder air is forecast to plunge into the eastern United States next week, but shy of bitterly cold conditions. There is a chance the colder air may hook up with a storm projected to move northward near the Atlantic coast to bring wintry precipitation.
