A significant change in the weather pattern is expected across South Korea beginning on Lunar New Year.
The recent shots of cold air will give way to a mild air mass beginning on Monday and continuing through much of next week.
Low pressure near Vladivostok will produce a few rain and snow showers in the mountains of Gangwon with showers in the lower elevations of the northeast.
High pressure centered to the south will bring milder air from eastern China into South Korea resulting in the highest temperatures since the beginning of January.
The warmth will begin to build on the Lunar New Year with a high near 5 C (41 F) in Seoul.

AccuWeather Meteorologist SungHyun Do added, "This will be good for outdoor activities, such as jegichagi and flying kites."
Temperatures will slowly rise further each day through Friday. Along with the warmth, high pressure will provide dry weather and partly to mostly sunny skies each day.
