Pittsburgh: Milder Air Replaces the Weekend Chill

By Courtney Spamer, Meteorologist

Following a weekend that felt more like November, a surge of warmer air will have temperatures on the rise for the middle of the week.
After temperatures barely climb into upper 40s on Sunday, the high pressure supplying the cool air will shift off to the east. This will bring milder air up from the south, and thus near-normal temperatures, to the District by Tuesday.

Average temperatures for the Iron City in the middle of October are around 62 degrees Fahrenheit. After a less-harsh day in the mid 50s on Monday, highs on Tuesday will soar into the upper 60s F.

By Wednesday, the warm air and dry conditions will combine to bring a final push of warmth into New York City.
Highs for Wednesday and Thursday are expected to remain in the upper 60s each afternoon.
Temperatures slightly below normal are expected to return for the end of the week.
