Tropical Depression Thirteen-E Organizing in the Eastern Pacific

August 26,2015

Highlights

  • Tropical Depression Thirteen-E formed in the eastern Pacific on Wednesday and is located about 840 miles south-southwest of the southern tip of Baja California.
  • Thirteen-E is forecast to strengthen into Tropical Storm Jimena sometime Thursday.
  • For now, this system is no threat to land the next five days as it tracks westward behind Ignacio.
  • It does appear that this system should continue to strengthen, as it is forecast to become a hurricane by this weekend.
  • It's far too early to know if this system may eventually become a threat to Hawaii. Check back for updates.
