Boston: Week to End on a Pleasant Note

Low humidity and seasonable temperatures will bring a nice end to the week around Boston and all of New England.
Dry and cooler air will continue to filter into Massachusetts following the passage of a cold front, bringing several days of sunshine and great outdoor weather.

Highs through Friday will be within a degree or two from the average of 79 F this time of the year. Overnight lows will also be in the lower 60s, which is around normal, although outlying suburbs and the countryside will dip to rather cool readings. Some areas could drop into the lower 50s.
High pressure building in will also keep rain away. Those who have outdoor plans from picnics to baseball games or even have to work outside will find the weather quite nice for late August. Sunscreen will still be needed though.

As the weekend arrives, temperatures will warm slightly and humidity will increase.
While most places will stay dry, AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Dave Dombek added that with the increase in humidity, the chance for a pop-up thunderstorm will follow suit.

"I feel that on Saturday, the pop-up thunderstorm chance will be away from the coast and the I-95 corridor and then a better chance over most areas on Sunday," he said.
"However, we are getting into the time of year where pop-up thunderstorms do not develop as quickly as they would in June and July with just daytime heating," Dombek said. "You need some sort of a trigger this time of year." Such a trigger could be lacking this weekend.
