Rounds of showers and thunderstorms will affect the Philadelphia and Atlantic City, New Jersey areas during the middle days of the week, while warm and humid conditions linger.
"The rain spreading through the region will be more of a nuisance, rather than a threat for severe weather," said AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Kristina Pydynowski.
Enough rain can fall to disrupt outdoor construction and painting projects, as well as spoil a day at the beach or a round of golf.

Even though widespread severe storms are not in the offing locally at this time, there is still the risk of storms developing that can produce cloud-to-ground lightning. People outdoors should keep an eye out for changing weather conditions and seek shelters indoors or in a vehicle at the first clap of thunder.

The biggest day in terms of downpours and locally gusty storms is on Wednesday, as a front moves in from the Midwest.
Despite the potential for downpours each day through Thursday, temperatures will still hover near seasonable levels with highs in the 80s to near 90 F.
Enough of a push of dry air is forecast to push in from the north to end the threat of rain and storms by Friday with a chance the dry weather holds for the weekend. However, moisture will not be shoved too far away to the south and west and could begin to push northeastward.
