Following a soggy Fourth of July weekend, drier air will briefly make its way into the city to start off the new week.
Monday is forecast to stay mostly dry, as most of the showers and storms will stay mainly south of New York City. However, a brief passing shower or two cannot be ruled out, especially in the afternoon.
Humidity looks to make a comeback Monday night and into the day on Tuesday, as dew points will be approaching the low 70s F.
Along with the increased humidity, a small disturbance will move into the area and may bring some spotty showers and a thunderstorm.
Temperatures most days will be in the middle to upper 80s F.

Things won't start to quiet down until later in the day on Wednesday when a cold front sweeps through the area and brings scattered showers and thunderstorms.
Behind the front, things look to be turning a bit cooler and less humid to round off the end of the week.
