Mainly Dry With a Warming Trend for Wimbledon

A stretch of dry weather, warming day to day, will continue until the weekend in Greater London and much of the United Kingdom.

For Wimbledon quarterfinals play, Thursday will bring long sunny intervals, moderate temperature and light wind. The high temperature will be 22 C, essentially normal for the date.
Now that low pressure has left by way of Scandinavia, Atlantic high pressure will build eastward over England and France on Thursday before leaving to the east on Friday, thereby fostering daily abundant sunshine as well as a day-to-day warming trend over much of the United Kingdom.

In London, the high temperature to about 24 C on Friday before topping at a noticeably warm 26 C on Saturday. Elsewhere, a few places in England will also see 25 C to 26 C both days, nowhere near the wilting heatwave levels of last week.
A cold front triggering a few showery outbreaks will make its way eastward across the United Kingdom at the weekend, potentially reaching the London area on Sunday.
