The break from rain will not last long around Washington, D.C., and Baltimore with the stormy weather pattern resuming on Monday.
Showers and thunderstorms will be around daily Monday through midweek, causing those with outdoor plans to once again have to prepare for possible delays and consider places to seek shelter.
Storms Returning to the Northeast
Remember that as soon as thunder is heard, the danger of being struck by lightning is present.
Between Monday and Tuesday, the latter will be the most active day when there is concern for heavy thunderstorms to unleash excessive rainfall. That is especially true Tuesday afternoon.

The danger for the thunderstorms to turn more severe with damaging winds and hail will be greatest south of Washington, D.C., on Tuesday.
Any downpours could trigger localized flash flooding and will heighten the concerns of vehicles hydroplaning when traveling at highway speeds.

High humidity on Tuesday will help fuel the heavy thunderstorms and create a sticky feel to the air.
A slow-moving storm system will keep showers and thunderstorms around through Wednesday and Thursday, continuing to wreak havoc with those with outdoor plans.

Drier air should finally work into the area on Friday but may only hold on and keep showers and thunderstorms away for one day.
