Tropical Cyclone Ashobaa will track westward through Saturday and continue to weaken as it tracks over Oman.
The warm waters of the Arabian Sea allowed Ashobaa to strengthen through Wednesday, though some weakening has since occurred and will continue as Ashobaa due to dry air aloft and proximity to land.
Due to this weakening, it will not pose any significant wind threat to Oman.

The heaviest rain and wind associated with the storm will remain over the open waters of the Arabian Sea, but coastal areas of eastern Oman have already had some downpours.
"There is significant dry air over land and a lack of tropical moisture across the northern Arabian Sea," stated AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Jason Nicholls.
The seas will be rough for boaters and swimmers across the entire northern part of the Arabian Sea, reaching Pakistan and western India.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms across the interior of Oman could still cause localized flash flooding; however, the greatest threat will remain in eastern parts of the country. The area of greatest concern for flooding rainfall at this time extends from areas south and east of Muscat in the north to Duqm along the southeast coastline.
