Another round of thunderstorms is on tap for part of the central United States into Thursday night, impacting some areas that were hit by storms on Wednesday.
Similar to the storms on Wednesday, Thursday's storms will bring the danger of damaging wind gusts and large hail with the highest risk coming during the afternoon and evening hours.
While the tornado threat is forecast to remain low, a small number may still spin up with the strongest storms.

Cities in the swath of potentially damaging and dangerous storms include Chicago; Omaha, Nebraska; Kansas City, Missouri; Des Moines, Iowa; Wichita, Kansas; and Amarillo, Texas.
With several thunderstorms possible, people should not let their guard down after one storm has passed.
Keep ahead of the severe weather by following the interactive radar as well as the latest watches and warnings.
Severe weather will not be the only danger in this part of the country through Thursday night.
A heavy, soaking rain is forecast to spread over an area just north of the severe storms. This includes Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Minneapolis.
Anyone that needs to travel in these areas should allow for extra time to reach their destination. Heavy rain could slow traffic and lead to some delays at the airport.

The stormy weather is expected to shift to the south and east heading into Friday, allowing for settled weather to build in to close out the workweek.
However, this drier weather pattern will not stick around for long as some thunderstorms may return to Nebraska and Iowa by Saturday afternoon.
The risk of flooding will expand across the Central states into next week.
