Heavy Storms to Hit Ohio Valley Sunday Afternoon

A wave of heavy, gusty thunderstorms will move into the Ohio Valley on Sunday afternoon, right on the heels of Tropical Rainstorm Bill.
In general, Bill soaked the Ohio Valley with 1 to 2 inches of rain on Saturday which led to flooding issues across the region.
Those with outdoor plans this Father's Day may want to consider adjusting their plans because of the storms.
"People may want to have alternative plans that include indoor activities as it may not be the best of days for a ballgame or a fishing trip," said AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Alex Sosnowski.

The morning hours will be the best time for any sort of outdoor activity before thunderstorms overspread the region in the afternoon.
Wind gusts past 60 mph and flooding downpours will be the primary threat with Sunday's storms with the threat extending into the evening hours.
If you are outdoors, you should head inside at the first sign of a thunderstorm.

Bill's Tropical Moisture to Trigger Storms, Flooding in New England
The stormy weather pattern from the weekend is forecast to continue right into the start of the new week.
Showers and thunderstorms are in the forecast for both Monday and Tuesday across the Ohio Valley with most of the activity holding off until the afternoon hours.
However, the storms on Monday and Tuesday are not expected to be as strong as those that move through the region on Sunday afternoon.
