After a stormy beginning to the week, the Chicago area will see tranquil weather through midweek before late-week storms arrive.
Daytime highs will be close to 80 F with partly sunny skies through Wednesday, AccuWeather Meteorologist Brian Edwards said.
"There [could] be a shower or thunderstorm in a few spots Wednesday, especially later in the day and at night as a low pressure system approaches the area," Edwards said. "This system has the potential to bring a round of strong to severe thunderstorms Wednesday night into early on Thursday," he added.

Fans heading to Wrigley Field to watch the Cubs play the Dodgers on Wednesday and Thursday may want to bring rain gear.
Conditions will turn cooler through late in the week as the chance for thunderstorms will remain on Thursday. Sunshine will return by Friday but daytime highs will settle in the low 70s.
