The warmest days of the year thus far occurred during the middle of last week in parts of northern and central Europe, including cities such as London, Paris and Berlin. However, now dry weather has settled across the region and will remain for the next several days.
Through midweek, days will feature sunshine and limited clouds with temperatures near to slightly above normal across northern France, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and the British Isles.
Last week, cities from Madrid to Paris and London were at their highest temperature points of the year.
The temperature in Paris soared to 80 degrees on Wednesday. This was the first 80-degree-Fahrenheit day of the year and the first since September.
A cold front pressed southward across northern Europe on Thursday, bringing an end to the warmth from London to Berlin. Paris remained unseasonably warm but was still cooler than Wednesday with temperatures ranging from 22-24 C (71-75 F). The front eventually pushed through central France, bringing highs near 18 C (65 F) on Friday.
Early this week, while temperatures will be above average across much of western Europe, it will not be as warm as what the region experienced last week. On Monday and Tuesday, the temperature will climb to near 17-18 C (62-65 F) in London and to around 21 C (70 F) in Paris.
AccuWeather.com Meteorologist Rob Richards adds that "Along with warm temperatures, the high pressure across the region will also provide for calm or light winds."

One caveat to the dry and pleasant conditions prevailing in the western half of Europe will be found in Portugal and Spain. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will be found across these areas through Wednesday.
Overall, rainfall amounts from these showers and thunderstorms will generally remain light, bringing less than 12 mm (0.50 of an inch) of rain. Not only will rainfall generally be light, due to the isolated nature of the showers and thunderstorms, some areas will remain dry.
A change in the weather pattern is expected during the end of the week as high pressure in northern Europe weakens, allowing a storm to approach from the Atlantic Ocean bringing the return of more clouds and showers to western Europe.
