After rain early in the week, a second punch of chilly air may spread a dusting of snow across the Minneapolis area at midweek.
With temperatures in the 40s F until Wednesday evening, a shot of cold air could deliver snow showers over the area at midweek.
Temperatures will drop into the 30s leading into the weekend, continuing the threat for additional snowfall.
"There is a small chance for snow again on Thursday," AccuWeather.com Meteorologist Brian Thompson said.
No major accumulation is expected; however, motorists should still be on the lookout for black ice.
Skies will be sunny by Friday, but temperatures will be nearly 20 degrees below normal for this time of year.
Seasonal daytime highs are near the 50 F mark.

However, the cold air will begin to falter into the weekend as temperatures pull closer to normal averages in the mid-40s.
"There is a chance for some rain showers over the weekend," Thompson said.
