Oregon's
Crater Lake recently received nearly 2 feet of snow, but it still
wasn't close to erasing the massive snow deficit that grew throughout
the winter.(Instagram/aishcatt)
In fact, the national park has seen just a third of its normal snowfall total to this point in the season, a problem that has been observed up and down the parched West Coast.

The snow that fell beginning Friday was heavy and wet. Rangers said cross country skiing was tough.
