Weather Underground Forecast for Wednesday,February 4,2015

A weak area of low pressure will slide across the lower Great Lakes and the Northeast on Wednesday, while a separate system will develop over the Gulf of Mexico.

An area of low pressure will shift east northeastward over the central and eastern Great Lakes, as well as the Northeast. This system will usher moderate to heavy snow over the northern Ohio Valley, the eastern Great Lakes, northwest Pennsylvania and western New York. Lighter snow showers will be possible over the Tennessee Valley, the interior Mid-Atlantic and New England. A cold frontal boundary associated with this system will extend west southwestward. Moderate to heavy snow showers will develop along this frontal boundary over the central Rockies, the central Plains and the Midwest.

Just to the south, a low pressure system will deepen over the northern Gulf of Mexico. As this system pushes eastward, it will bring light to moderate rain to the Gulf Coast, the Southeast and the southern Mid-Atlantic.

Meanwhile, a Pacific cold front will approach the West Coast. Light rain and high elevation snow will develop ahead of this frontal boundary over the Pacific Northwest, the upper Intermountain West and parts of northern California. High pressure will keep weather conditions warm and dry over the Southwest and the Great Basin. Temperatures are forecast to range between the 70s and 80s across the Desert Southwest on Wednesday.
