It has already been a rather cold month around Detroit but it is about to get colder.
Another clipper system is set to pass through the Great Lakes and into the Northeast during the middle of the week not only will it bring a round of light snow, it will also bring a bast of reinforcing arctic air to the region.
"This clipper will drag an arctic front through the region Wednesday night, ushering in a frigid air mass," said AccuWeather.com Meteorologist Brian Edwards.
Although the snow will be light, it will still be a nuisance. Minor traffic issues could arise due to a slippery coating to perhaps an inch or two of snow that the clipper could put down, starting Wednesday and continuing into Thursday.
"While there can be some light snow associated with the system, the bigger story by far will be the frigid air that will follow," said Edwards.
High temperatures through Wednesday will be in the upper 20s to low 30s before they take a tumble into the teens for Thursday and Friday due to the passage of the arctic front.

Low temperatures will fall into the single digits and near zero at times at the end of the week.
"Combine those temperatures with a gusty northwest wind and you're looking at AccuWeather RealFeel® Temperatures that are below zero," warned Edwards.
Folks who need to go outside for extended periods of time are urged to bundle up in several layers to stay warm.
The month of February is already running about 7 degrees below normal and this polar plunge will continue the cold across the region.
