The Central America Hurricane of 1934 was not all that intense in terms
of strength, but the hurricane caused widespread flooding and mudslides
as it slowly tracked from Central America to the Gulf Coast states. It
is estimated that anywhere from 1,000 to 3,000 people were killed.
