Severe storms ranging from Ohio to the Carolinas will weaken into Wednesday night.
"The overall severe weather threat has diminished significantly over the mid-Atlantic region," AccuWeather.com Meteorologist Brian Edwards said. "Lingering rain and thunderstorms can still lead to areas of flooding from central North Carolina through central Pennsylvania."
The bigger threat for severe weather overnight shifts westward into the central Plains, he said.
These storms in the Plains will continue to produce damaging wind gusts and large hail heading into Wednesday night.
