Harrisburg: Heavy Storms to Return on Tuesday

By , Senior Meteorologist

The stage is set for drenching thunderstorms to return to Harrisburg Tuesday afternoon.
Tuesday will definitely feel like a summer day in Harrisburg. While temperatures soar well into the 80s, humidity will increase and make the air feel more uncomfortable than it was on Monday.
The stickiness will also help fuel showers and thunderstorms to erupt in the afternoon as a storm system approaches.

Motorists heading to points west on the Pennsylvania Turnpike or U.S. 322, however, will encounter a shower or thunderstorm prior to noon EDT.
AccuWeather.com meteorologists are concerned that some of Tuesday's thunderstorms in Harrisburg will unleash gusty winds and blinding, flooding downpours.

Outdoor plans may be delayed or forced inside. Remember, you are close enough to be struck by lightning if you hear thunder.
A shower or thunderstorm will linger through Tuesday evening before drier and less humid air works in for Wednesday. Warm air will still be in place with highs once again in the 80s.
Thunderstorms will quickly return on Thursday before a dry spell unfolds for Friday and the weekend.
