Heavy Storms to Blast Louisiana to Ohio Through Wednesday

A continuous flow of moisture from the Gulf of Mexico will help to fuel rounds of heavy, gusty thunderstorms from Louisiana to Ohio through Wednesday.
"Slow-moving storms across the mid-Atlantic will continue to produce isolated instances of flooding-downpours and small hail through the evening hours," AccuWeather.com Meteorologist Brian Edwards said. "Most of the storms will weaken late tonight and Wednesday morning before another round fires up during the day on Wednesday."
These storms will not only cause headaches for travelers, but also impact any outdoor events planned Wednesday across this portion of the country.

The threat of heavy, gusty thunderstorms will persist into Wednesday, affecting some of the same areas hit by Tuesday's storms.
In addition to the thunderstorms from Mississippi to Ohio, a steady rain is forecast to develop from Arkansas to southern Illinois which could lead to additional flooding problems.
Up to 6 inches of rain fell along the corridor from San Antonio to Houston, Texas, Monday night into Tuesday morning. The heaviest rain has pushed off the Texas coast as of the midday hours Tuesday.

Although these storms may have some negative impacts, they will have some positive impacts.
One of the biggest positives from these storms will be the much-needed rain falling over portions of Texas currently in a drought.
This much rain will help to fill reservoirs and get rivers and streams flowing closer-to-normal levels before drier weather moves in for the second half of the week.
