Some cooler weather is in store for Chicago this week as thunderstorms roll into the area around late week.
After afternoon and evening thunderstorms Monday, temperatures will drop into the 50s for Tuesday and Wednesday.
Despite sunny skies, temperatures will trend below seasonal averages through midweek with highs in the low 50s. A stray rain shower or two is also in store for the city on Wednesday, which may dampen fans at game three of the four-games series between the Chicago Cubs and the Arizona Diamondbacks at Wrigley Field.

While temperatures will rise on Thursday, a series of thunderstorms will roll through Chicago on Thursday afternoon and evening, threatening the last game between the Cubs and Diamondbacks at Wrigley Field. Those headed out to the game should watch for possible delays and be prepared for rain and breezy winds.
Showers will again plague the area early Friday morning before temperatures drop back down into the 30s in the evening, hovering near the freezing mark.
Heading into the weekend, cooler weather will remain prominent in the city with temperatures in the 50s to last into next week.
