Winter Storm Wiley spread a swath of snow and ice from the Missouri Valley into the Mid-Atlantic states from Mar. 15-17, 2014.Below are some of the notables from this late winter storm, by region.
East:
- Peak snow total: Haywood, Va. (13.7")
- Washington (Dulles): 10"
- Washington (Reagan Nat'l): 7.2"
- Baltimore, Md. (city): Up to 7.2"
- Charleston, W.V. (NWS office): 5"
- Philadelphia, Pa.: 4.5" (Brings season total to 67.4", making it the second snowiest winter on record there).
- Sleet/ice reports: Under 0.1" ice accumulation in parts of southwest Va., northern N.C.; 0.6" sleet mixed with snow in Roanoke, Va.
Midwest:
- Peak snow total: Oak Hill, Ohio (6")
- Harrison, Ark: 5"
- Sleet/ice reports: 1/2 - 1" sleet in Ellington and near Belleview, Mo.; Generally 0.1" or less ice accumulation in parts of southeast Mo.
