The 2014 season of Formula 1 racing is set to get underway this week in Melbourne, Australia.
Practice sessions will get underway on Friday with a mixture of clouds and sunshine and temperatures in the upper 20s C (80-84 F)
The dry weather will continue into early Saturday as the final practice session gets underway. A cold front approaching during the day will bring the threat for a shower or thunderstorm during the afternoon when qualifying will take place.

The front will come through Saturday night with more widespread rainfall.
Rain will continue into Sunday morning as pre-race activities begin; however, by the start of the race Sunday afternoon, just a lingering shower or two is expected.
Behind the front, temperatures will only be in the upper 10s C (64-67 F) during the race which could pose handling issues for the drivers who practice and qualify in much warmer conditions.
Following the race in Melbourne, Formula 1 will take a week off before the second race of the season takes place in Kuala Lumpur the last weekend in March.
