Ominous storm clouds rolled into Sydney, Australia on Wednesday afternoon, and spectacular photographs were captured on social media.
More specifically, what you are seeing in the photos is a shelf cloud, which you can learn more about at this link.
According to the Sydney Morning Herald, the storm caused heavy rain and delayed commuters in the Sydney area. Some flooding was also reported.
