Fresh cold air will pave the way for snow to once again return to Harrisburg on Tuesday.
Monday is shaping up to be a cold day across the Harrisburg area despite a good deal of sunshine.
Temperatures will be held to the upper 30s, which is more representative of a typical January day. A high in the middle 50s is more common this time of year.
The cold will continue through Tuesday, setting the stage for snow to return.
While the storm delivering the snow will not evolve into a blizzard until after bypassing Harrisburg, an inch or two is still expected through Tuesday night.

The majority of the snow that falls during the daytime will accumulate on grassy and elevated surfaces. It would take a heavy burst of snow, which cannot be ruled out for Tuesday, to overcome the effects of the strong March sun and briefly turn roads slippery.
Blustery winds in the wake of the snow will lead to an even colder day on Wednesday, especially in terms of AccuWeather.com RealFeel® temperatures.
The cold will finally ease later in the week as winter loosens its grip and opens the door for another brief surge of mild air.
