The Blizzard of 1983 struck the mid-Atlantic region between Feb.
10 and 12. The storm dumped over 30 inches of snow over parts of West
Virginia and Maryland with a general 15-25 inches near the I-95
corridor. A strong high pressure system to the north supplied the cold
air for the storm.
