Cold weather will be the rule for the Cleveland area late this week and this weekend, but major storms will stay away.
A system moving in from the northern Plains will bring a coating to an inch of snow on Valentine's Day. Roads and sidewalks will be slippery and dangerous for a time, but cars will likely only need to be brushed with this round of snow.

Severe cold will return for the weekend, as temperatures dip back below freezing Saturday and Sunday.
However, a major warmup is in store for the city next week providing Cleveland some relief from the bitter cold.
Beginning Monday, temperatures will jump up into the 40s and the city will stay mild through next week and into mid February.
